I'm thinking I might be able to do another challenge this Fall, what do you guys think?
Hope all is going wonderfully for you. :)
May it LEAP to the top of the charts. :)
After more than 400 Fitness Attack episodes, the first 100 are available in print! The Fitness Attack book will be available through the Amazon link on www.WithAmyMac.com on Leap Day, 2/29! It has been almost 2 years since the launch of Amy Mac and my health and fitness podcasts. Not only have we succeeded in providing great content (for free!) consistently for that duration but we have been featured in numerous publications and have episodes distributed to multiple TV and mobile platforms. I am asking everyone to buy the book on 2/29 in an attempt to ‘rush the charts’ and turn some heads in the bookselling world. Not only are you supporting me, but you are supporting those of us who have persevered in new media and proved that great content can be user-generated.
Remember, you have an extra day this year (leap day) - use it to make yourself healthy and fit.

I'm so glad that you keep them coming.
I am doing good. Doing weight training 5-6 days a week. looking to include some cardio exercise. Please suggest.
thanks!
Just stay away from this one... http://www.krispykremechallenge.com/ I thought it was a joke when I heard about it, but nope. Its real. Ug.
You can do it. Hardest part is sticking to it, but you have stuck to putting out the podcast regularly, so I know you had dedication. Good luck!
I want to know if I can congratulate you or just plain encourage you to do better... yes, the student teaching the teacher -- yes, I know this is all wrong. :)
If you're just here for us, that's cool!
I had a few set backs myself but am back on track. (sickness busted equipment is a bummer!)
Here's to us all doing great in 2008 looking fine by 2009!
Stacy - I'm glad you liked the scale. I think it can really provide some valuable info for people looking to learn.
Richard - No, I don't think fad diets are the answer. Unfortunately, watching your diet and exercising is the only sure way that I know of to lose and maintain a healthy weight. Most fad diets eliminate something that helps you lose weight but then when you add it back in - you gain the weight back. I think that is more frustrating than just changing your ways and taking the time to make it stick.
The Fit Life Challenge is 'officially' over but I'm going to keep the group open and try to help motivate the best that I can. I will be posting results and prizes in the forum here soon.
Cheers to a Fabulous 2008 ahead!

I finally hit my first goal of 25 lbs. I am so excited. It has been hard over the holidays but I did it. I started on October 20 so I've had to go through halloween thanksgiving and Christmas. I am very proud to start my new year down 25! I'm going to set another goal soon. It was really awesome to see it say goal met on here today. :) I celebrated by going for a walk with my mom and I think I'm going to go buy myself a little something tonight! :)
I hope you have a great night!
ttyl,
jennifer :)
I was wondering, as a certified fitness instructor, what would you say is the best things to do to lose weight at a steady pace? Is there a "fad" diet out there that you recommend or have you used multiple activities to achieve weight loss and maintenance?
I'm currently at 204lbs and my goal is to get to 185lbs by July 1st. What can I do to achieve that goal and maintain that weight?
What do you do?
Thanks for the comment. I just finished doing some aerobics. (whew!) lol I feel so much better now since I have lost 21.4lbs. It really boosts my confidence. I have much more to lose but I hope to meet my first goal by New Year's Eve. I only have 3.6 left to go until I reach that goal. Making smaller goals is easier for me. Then I make another goal after I reach that one. I am going to start introducing some hand weights in the beginning of the year. Anyway, I hope you have a good week!
-jennifer :)
Thank you, Ali! Knowing people listen makes the hard work worth it!
more importantly say thanks for the motivation inspiration. I am loving the podcast. Even downloading some of the past ones to relisten to. Helps to get the information while I am stuck at my desk at work. Helps me to feel like I am still focused gets me ready to leave workout... or at least take the stairs a few more times rather than use the phone to call down to another office!
Keep up the great work.
